This was another really fun character cake to make, although they are very time consuming I think they are certainly worth the effort. The Teletubbies were the child's favourite at the time so what could be better than a Teletubbies cake.
I had to watch quite a few episodes of the Teletubbies to make sure I was getting this cake as accurate as possible so as not to disappoint the birthday boy & lets just say I wouldn't mind if I never watched the Telebubbies ever again! All joking aside though I was very pleased with the outcome as was the birthday boy which is what it is all about.
The cake was 'Rainbow Tie Dye' (multi coloured vanilla butter cake) which is a lot of fun & the kids really seem to love all the bright colours when the cake is cut into. It was layered with & coated in a butterscotch flavored buttercream before being covered with the marshmallow fondant.

Vanilla Floral Cupcakes
Oh how pretty these cupcakes were, beautiful girly colours & the flowers so dainty, they were the perfect Mothers Day treat, definitely some of my favourite to date I think but would also be great for a wedding or engagement.
It was decided to go with classic vanilla for both the cake & the frosting for these cupcakes which was a great choice I think.
The cakes were 'Blondie' (vanilla bean butter cake) & I recommended (as I often do because it is one of my favourites) Swiss meringue buttercream for the frosting which is very, very silky & soft compared to standard buttercream.
For the toppers I made 4 different sizes & shapes of flower blossoms using sugarpaste in two different shades of pink.

White Embossed Fondant Cupcakes
These were some lovely fondant topped cupcakes, you can achieve some really stunning looks when you use a fondant topping. They were a very classic design, which resulted in simple elegance!
The cake was 'Snow White' (white chocolate mud cake) covered with a thin layer of white chocolate ganache which really complemented the simplicity of these cupcakes.
They were then topped with pure white marshmallow fondant which I had embossed with a floral design & dusted with an edible white luster dust to give them a beautiful shimmer.

Baby Shower Cookies
I love to make & decorate all kinds of sugar cookies for all sorts of occasions but there is definitely something special for me about baby shower or christening cookies, especially when it is twins!
These particular ones were baby footprints & cute little buttons in both baby pink & baby blue.
The cookies were lemon flavour sugar cookies frosted with lemon flavoured royal icing except for the word baby on the footprints which was made using marshmallow fondant.

Toy Story Character Birthday Cake
Character cakes can be a double edged sword!
On the one hand they can be fairly stressful as they take a lot of concentration & can take a really long time to make. This is because all the character toppers are very intricate & have to look as close as possible to the really thing in order for them to resemble the characters required.
On the other hand they are very rewarding once completed & there is nothing quite like seeing a little boy or girl's face light up with joy when presented with all their very favourite characters of the moment sitting upon a great big delicious cake. Not to mention their delight when they realise they are all completely edible!
This cake had three layers of 'Killer Chocolate' (moist chocolate fudge sponge cake) with chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream sandwiched in-between them. As always homemade marshmallow fondant (which tastes great compared to standard fondant) was used for covering the cake & for all decorations & characters.
I used the writing from the Toy Story 2 movie as inspiration for the happy birthday message, name & age on the cake.

I was especally happy with Buzz Light Year which was fantastic as I was aware that this was the boys favourite character.

MasterChef Cupcakes
These lovely gourmet cupcakes are some that I took along with me to local radio station Hot FM as part of their "MasterChef Mackay" competition in which I was a finalist & the eventual winner!
I prepared two similar flavours which complimented each other very nicely.
The first were a chocolate & poppyseed sponge topped with orange & dark chocolate chip Swiss meringue buttercream.
These were adorned with smashed Jaffa lollies & a custom made marshmallow & royal icing MasterChef logo topper.
The second were a orange & poppyseed sponge topped with a rich dark chocolate whipped ganache.

Number One Birthday Cake
This was of one of my number birthday cakes for a child's 1st birthday.
It was a 'Blondie' (vanilla butter cake) covered with chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream frosting which has a very silky mouth feel compared to standard buttercream, then finished with homemade marshmallow fondant.
I always use homemade marshmallow fondant for all my cakes & cupcake toppers as it tastes far superior to regular fondant & it is important to me for my cakes to taste as good as they look!
It was a simple but effective age number design utilising bright primary colours & dramatic shapes.
Also included were some 3D fondant baby blocks with the child’s name on to really personalise the cake.
