Boys Christening Cake Decorations

I was asked to make these little boys Christening cake decorations for a returning customer who had previous had some golf cake decorations & some sugar lilies made for cakes that she had made herself.

The brief this time was for me to incorporate a teddy bear, a cross & some baby blocks spelling out the little boys name, all with a baby blue, white & silver theme.

I decided to have the teddy bear clutching the cross & also gave him a cute little baby blanket.

Everything was made using marshmallow fondant modeling paste & finished off with edible lustre dusts for an extra shimmer.

Also included were some baby block faces to go around the cake as the border.  For these I used hearts, stars, crosses & the first initial of the little boy.

I thought it would be a nice idea as well to make some of those border block faces spell out the date of the Christening & so I highlighted them in silver to match the other blocks with the name on & make them stand out from the other a little.

Lightening McQueen Baby Shower Cupcakes

These cute & fun cupcakes were for a baby shower.  The mother to be knew that she would be having a beautiful baby boy & had decorated his nursery with a Cars & Lightening McQueen theme so a lovely friend decided that that would be a great theme for the baby shower cupcakes she was getting for her.

There were 3 dozen cupcakes altogether, 1 dozen with Lightening McQueen toppers, 1 dozen with "I's a Boy" toppers & 1 dozen with "Pitter Patter of Little Feet" toppers.

The cake flavour was 'Blondie' (vanilla butter cake) which was topped with vanilla Italian meringue buttercream frosting, tinted blue.  Followed by some red sugar sprinkles & then of course the 3 different toppers which I hand made using fondant, royal icing, edible dusts & edible pens.

Lightening was quite tricky & took forever to do but I was pretty happy with how he turned out.

Apparently they went down very well.  "They were a big hit, I think most of the girsl from the shower got your number :) Thanks again!" Jessica

Blue & Brown Little Boys Christening Cupcakes

These adorable cupcakes were to help celebrate a precious little boys Christening  on Easter Sunday.

It was an order of 6 dozen cupcakes for a gorgeous cupcake tower display.

As you can see the colour scheme was blue & brown & I designed a variety of toppers for the cupcakes. They chose to have a mixture of novelty toppers & crosses.

The cake for the cupcake were a mixture of 'Killer Chocolate' (milk chocolate butter cake) & 'Blondie' (vanilla butter cake).  The 'Killer Chocolate' ones were topped with vanilla & white chocolate buttercream (tinted blue) & the 'Blondie' ones were topped with a rich chocolate ganache buttercream.

I used a cute little stitching effect around all of the topper discs & all of the topper were dusted with lustre dusts to give them a lovely shimmer (although you can't really see it in the photos).

For the novelty toppers we have the angel wings with halo & babies bibs.  The angel wings were my absolute favourite, so adorable I thought!

Next we have the baby bottles & tiny baby footprints (my second favourite).

& finally the baby rattles.

As usual I also designed 3 extra special toppers with a personal message for the top of the cupcake tower, on these I included some buttons (they were meant to signify being cute as a button but I am not sure if anyone will of noticed, lol).

These were the crosses that I embossed with a tiny T which was the babies initial.

The order was a pick up as they were from out of town so unfortunately I do not have any photos of the cupcake tower all set up, but I am hoping to get some from the customer & will post them as soon as I do.

Upon returning the cupcake stand the client was lovely enough to bring along some of the party favours they had given out containing little Easter eggs for my children, what a lovely thought, thank you again.

The customer said: "You had plenty of people talking about how beautiful the cup cakes looked and how yummy they were!  Thanks again for them!" Tegan & has now booked me to make another cake.

Treats for Mum & Bub - Baby Cookies

How about some beautiful baby cookies for a brand new mum to celebrate the arrival of her wonderful bundle of joy.

These are sugar cookies decorated using a mixture of royal icing & marshmallow fondant.

A pink theme for a baby girl

Notice the pink bow in the baby's hair & the tiny pink flowers on the teddy bear & around the rubber ducks neck.

A blue for a boy theme next.

This time the teddy bear & rubber duck are wearing tiny blue bow ties.

And if the sex of the baby is not known at the time of your order then a neutral yellow & green theme works great too.

Here are some close ups so you can see some of my favourite details on the cookies.

The rosy cheeks of the baby faces & the dummies,

the bubbles on the rubber ducks

& the tiny silver cachous that I used for press studs on the oneies.

Baby Shower Cookies

I love to make & decorate all kinds of sugar cookies for all sorts of occasions but there is definitely something special for me about baby shower or christening cookies, especially when it is twins!

These particular ones were baby footprints & cute little buttons in both baby pink & baby blue.

The cookies were lemon flavour sugar cookies frosted with lemon flavoured royal icing except for the word baby on the footprints which was made using marshmallow fondant.

They just look so adorable once they are all packaged up into individual bags with ribbons.
