Chocolate Toffee Cupcakes

Well If you are one of those people who just can't say no to all the deliciously sweet & gooey things like chocolate, fudge & toffee then let me tell you this, you would of been in love with these cupcakes!

The cake in these cupcakes was 'Killer Chocolate' a wonderfully rich, moist dark chocolate fudge cake & the frosting was a light & silky smooth butterscotch & vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream.

Next was the sticky toffee sauce drizzle. For this I made a treacle toffee sauce which is beautifully sweet like any other toffee sauce but also has a deeper & more rich & intense flavour.

Each cupcake was then topped with it's own individual shard of sweet crisp, crunchy toffee bark.

A little naughty, but oh so nice.

Just perfect for choc-toffee-aholic in all of us!

Number One & Party Balloon Birthday Cookies

Here we have some lovely bright & cheerful cookies for a 1st birthday that were a lot of fun to make.

There were two designs, stripy red & yellow number one's & red, green, yellow & blue party balloons.

They were vanilla flavour sugar cookies & were decorated with a vanilla flavoured royal icing.

I think the party balloons would look just great with a little piece of ribbon tied around the end of each one as if it were the balloons string.

These cookies would actually have complemented a cake I made for another order really well which was the Number 1 Birthday Cake. They would of made for a fantastic spread if paired up together however they were for a separate occasion.

Lovely when packaged up into cute little pairs!

Teletubbies Birthday Cake

This was another really fun character cake to make, although they are very time consuming I think they are certainly worth the effort. The Teletubbies were the child's favourite at the time so what could be better than a Teletubbies cake.

I had to watch quite a few episodes of the Teletubbies to make sure I was getting this cake as accurate as possible so as not to disappoint the birthday boy & lets just say I wouldn't mind if I never watched the Telebubbies ever again! All joking aside though I was very pleased with the outcome as was the birthday boy which is what it is all about.

The cake was 'Rainbow Tie Dye' (multi coloured vanilla butter cake) which is a lot of fun & the kids really seem to love all the bright colours when the cake is cut into. It was layered with & coated in a butterscotch flavored buttercream before being covered with the marshmallow fondant.

The tiny sugarpaste flowers have lemon flavoured royal Icing centres. Boy were there a lot of flowers to do!

Tinky Winky!

La La!

Po!
I gave each of the Telebubbies their own individual pose.

Noo Noo!
My personal favourite, I used edible black pen for the really fine detail as he was pretty small.

Vanilla Floral Cupcakes

Oh how pretty these cupcakes were, beautiful girly colours & the flowers so dainty, they were the perfect Mothers Day treat, definitely some of my favourite to date I think but would also be great for a wedding or engagement.

It was decided to go with classic vanilla for both the cake & the frosting for these cupcakes which was a great choice I think.

The cakes were 'Blondie' (vanilla bean butter cake) & I recommended (as I often do because it is one of my favourites) Swiss meringue buttercream for the frosting which is very, very silky & soft compared to standard buttercream.

For the toppers I made 4 different sizes & shapes of flower blossoms using sugarpaste in two different shades of pink.

I then made the blossoms two tone with the use of edible petal dust & lustre dust & added some sugar balls to the centre of each.

Finally I finished each of them off with a light sprinkle of pink coloured sugar crystals.

White Embossed Fondant Cupcakes

These were some lovely fondant topped cupcakes, you can achieve some really stunning looks when you use a fondant topping. They were a very classic design, which resulted in simple elegance!

The cake was 'Snow White' (white chocolate mud cake) covered with a thin layer of white chocolate ganache which really complemented the simplicity of these cupcakes.

They were then topped with pure white marshmallow fondant which I had embossed with a floral design & dusted with an edible white luster dust to give them a beautiful shimmer.

To finish I crafted some sugarpaste red 'ribbon' roses to sit atop each cupcake & the result was quite lovely.

This type of cupcake is just perfect for an engagement, wedding or valentines day.
